Well today I did not do much towards the redthreadtrail, except
download the pictures for my statement and finish it off before meeting with
the others to put it all together. It
has now been sent off.
This morning was spent setting up a small exhibition in an
interesting corridor/stairwell exhibition space in college. Actually it is in the space that Nadja is doing her performance in so you can see it by looking at her post on Monday. It has been great and has meant that I
could get my large painting out of the studio and another canvas up on the wall
for tomorrow! (My tutor suggested that three of my tutor group should do this a couple of weeks ago). I have decided to start from a black primed background this time, which is new, and I am excited to see what impact this has on the painting.
My painting with Krystina's plaster beast in front of it. (Nadja will do her performance to the right of this space)
Part of my trail experience is to seek out different ways to
putting my work in the public domain. Since the beginning of his academic year I have been working on a couple of projects that involve
film. I am hoping to finish them off for the
23rd when I will convert my living room into a mini cinema. My front
door opens onto the street. Of cause I will report on this with photos after
the event. The poster is not quite finished! I have invited Sonja, a fellow
student to show some animations with me.
I also have another project but will keep that for another day!
I am thinking about how I might do the installation at Crate.
Ideas come and go. I do want to do something outside and it would also be great
if I could use that window. It will depend on working on site. It is great that we have the time to mull it all
over …There is some research to do!! .. It is such an exciting challenge for us to bring our different works together like this.... Well I know we have to wait to see if we can exhibit in Crate first!!!!!
PS. Here is a picture of us three at Crate.
