Hallo!
Today has been a different day from my usual day painting in the studio. I went to Jennies film viewing in the morning (I will leave her to tell you her thoughts on how it went, but I did enjoy the mixture of films a lot, since artist’s films are something I don’t often get chance to see) and after that I went to the Westgate Gardens to take some photos of my paintings in situ. It was mainly to do a test run for Sunday where I am going to hide the paintings properly and to see how camouflaged the paintings are in their different locations. Initially I was going to put the objects back in the same spot where I had first collected each of them from, however I found that 3 of them were right next to each other which would be too obvious and easy to find, so I decided that I will chose the locations to hide them instead. I also experimented taking photos of the objects in front of the actual scene painted onto them which had interesting results.
I won’t show too many photos now
as I am still sorting them out, and I don’t want to give too much away before
the painting hunt! I was such a nice sunny day today, which was good in one
sense, however it was a disadvantage when trying to take photos as the bright
light reflected off the surface of my varnished paintings causing an annoying
shine in a lot of the photos so I might have to retake some in the next few
days. I keep checking the weather forecast too and I am a bit worried that apparently
there is going to be rain the next few days and on Sunday too. It is too late
to change the date now though so I just hope the BBC has got it wrong...
fingers crossed for no torrential rain or snow!
We have the blue project space
booked on Monday and Tuesday. I don’t have my paintings in Canterbury as I took
them home so I am feeling a bit bad about that as I don’t want it to hinder the
group. I will just have to get the measurements and maybe try and print out
some photos. I am sorry about that Jennie and Nadja. Anyway, on the positive
side, thank you Jennie for offering to do the screenprinting, I know you will
do it well. And Nadja, your boxes are looking really professional, your hard
work has paid off, well done!
