Today I have been talking to painter Matthew de Pulford about how to best promote the redthreadtrail project. This was the most useful and informative one to one talk I have had in a long time. Matthew did not only offer many brilliant suggestions on how to successfully promote an exhibition with posters and through social networking. He namedropped a long list of artist organisations to invite, some names of people at newspapers we should call up for press attention, various art magazines we still have time to try to get mentioned in+ some galleries in Margate we should try walk around to in order to try to get them to come to our exhibition opening. The amazing thing was that he actually showed real interest in our project and ideas which made me so happy and confident. He said our project is "sofisticated enough to now focus on banal things like promotion". And he also gave some great advise about how to prepare for the installing of the works. And he suggested we look at Lucy Harrisons projects to get some inspiration, and also to look at collaborative art projects and how they are promoted.
So now I will focus on finding out a bit more about websites/blog addresses and mailing lists he suggested and later this week I will also design a card with the blog address to "spread the word".

Also, now I have booked a date for us at Crate but it is still to be confirmed by the sporadic Germans : )
