Yesterday was a bit disappointing when it comes to my trial and error woodwork project. The doors do not stick to the hinges with mere glue yet they are way too thin to drill screws into. What I also realised was much more embarrassing! I have managed to make them too small! So it was just to put one foot in front of the other and walk off to Wincheap to buy almost three meter of Piano hinge, walk back and start all over again, this time with thicker board(12mm).
And this time I have calculated everything correctly, and checked it with the technician. I am however working a bit quicker now that I have failed once and know a bit more what I should(and should not) do. All the pieces are chopped up, so tomorrow it is gluing time and then I'll cut up the hinge into four bits, one for each box. I might later decide to cover the hinge with book cloth if it is too apparent. Unfortunately this time the hinge cannot be completely hidden on the inside of the box.

I have not been able to paint that effectively lately due to some chilblains on my right hand's fingers, but today I actually got a bit of painting done on my fourth Question Card painting. So now it is almost as good as finished! Other good news; got the final confirmation from Crate Gallery and our exhibition will be happening! 11th-13th April are booked so as soon as Rachael and Jennie are back we will have to start spreading the word, making posters, arranging an event on facebook maybe, and thinking about who to invite etcetera. I am also going to decide one day of moving around campus with a projector and DVD player and projecting my performance documentations in various spaces. And a lot of other exciting stuff is going to happen during the coming weeks so we will be really busy, but it will be a lot of fun I think!
